Iapos;ve had social anxiety since I was 11. Itapos;s gotten better over the years, but it keeps me from meeting new people, getting a job, speaking up in class, etc. I start twitching and I feel sick a lot. Itapos;s pretty embarrassing. I also hate driving, because I always think about the worst that can happen. Since I have to drive every day, my stress levels are really high. This year Iapos;ve been having a tough time breathing and falling asleep, and I blame my anxiety for that.
So I was thinking about starting some kind of therapy. I read about behavioral therapy and it seems like something I would really like to try. I understand itapos;s a slow process, but I donapos;t want to be on meds anymore and I want to feel like I am in control of my life again.
I really donapos;t know much about this therapy. I donapos;t know how or where to get this type of therapy, or how much it would cost. Will my insurance cover it? I donapos;t even know where to start.
For these of you whoapos;ve tried behavioral therapy, how well would you say it worked for you? Please tell me anything about your experience, I would greatly appreciate it.
