After purchasing a replacement keyboard and a fresh CMOS battery, the old computer lives Itapos;s possible the 4 years it wasnapos;t being used kept it from wearing out, but I think itapos;s just the power of home-built. A little surprising what was still on this box. Itapos;s got a blazing 650 MB AMD Duron, half a gig of memory and a 40 gig HD. Itapos;s running Win 2K, Microsoft Works 2000 and it had Firefox Beta 0.8 before I updated. For all that, it works pretty darn well. It was able to update to Firefox 3, probably because whatever you call it Win 2K is still just Windows 5, the same as XP. And best of all, I found my old college papers on here, including things like the stories I translated for my Russian senior seminar. Good memories.

Anyway, itapos;s good to be able to work at home, even if I am tethered this way.

Iapos;ve had social anxiety since I was 11. Itapos;s gotten better over the years, but it keeps me from meeting new people, getting a job, speaking up in class, etc. I start twitching and I feel sick a lot. Itapos;s pretty embarrassing. I also hate driving, because I always think about the worst that can happen. Since I have to drive every day, my stress levels are really high. This year Iapos;ve been having a tough time breathing and falling asleep, and I blame my anxiety for that.

So I was thinking about starting some kind of therapy. I read about behavioral therapy and it seems like something I would really like to try. I understand itapos;s a slow process, but I donapos;t want to be on meds anymore and I want to feel like I am in control of my life again.

I really donapos;t know much about this therapy. I donapos;t know how or where to get this type of therapy, or how much it would cost. Will my insurance cover it? I donapos;t even know where to start.

For these of you whoapos;ve tried behavioral therapy, how well would you say it worked for you? Please tell me anything about your experience, I would greatly appreciate it.

Ya know...my life has been a rollercoaster since I returned from Sicily...

I finally decided to leave the recruiting gig...I am currently contracting for a pharma company out in Wallingford CT till I find my next gig...I am sooo happy I cannot tell you...:-)

My bro is getting a divorce...his soon to be ex has left the house as of last weekend...he is torn up about his little girl being gone but overall not having her around these last few days has been stress free...

I did a spiritual retreat this past weekend in Mount Washington MA...Iapos;ll write about and post it privately later. Suffice it to say it was an intense experinece...one of the best I have experienced.

And right after that experince I got into an accident this past Wednesday night...horrible one in fact. Everyone is ok so let me get that out of the way first. I just canapos;t remember how it happened but it was scary when I saw the car flipped over and thinking the guy I hit might be dead. He crawled out and from what I understand all he had were bumps and bruises and no broken bones. I have a fractured left hand (pinky and ring finger are affected) but overall not badly bruised. It was a true miracle.

Anyway I have a date tonight with a guy I met a few weeks ago...am looking forward to it.

As most of my Filipino friends know, a Filipino traditional wedding is a family affair. Ok...I dug out the music shuffle today on the olapos; iTunes and hit a creative streak I was writing the backs to some of the cards today and did very well because I was listening to the music
